Synopsis

The textbook, based on a competency-based approach, presents the main sections of modern general chemistry: basic concepts and laws of chemistry, nomenclature and properties of inorganic substances, structure of atoms and chemical bonding, energetics and kinetics of chemical processes, solutions, general properties of electrolyte solutions, hydrolysis of salts, redox reactions, complex compounds, basics of electrochemistry, properties of metals and corrosion of metals. After each section, questions for self-control and tasks for independent work of students are given, which allow objectively determining the level of preparation of students in chemistry.

Intended for students of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" of chemical and technological specialties of full-time and distance learning.
